Did You Know?
Each day in the United States, 70,000 kittens and puppies are born while
only 10,000 humans are born. That's a 7 to 1 ratio.
An unspayed female cat, her mate, and her offspring can produce 14 million
kittens in nine years, and an unspayed female dog, her mate, and her
offspring can produce 12 million puppies in the same amout of time.
Even if there were thousands of foster homes and several animal shelters in
the area, there wouldn't be enough homes for all of the animals born.
SPAYING OR NEUTERING YOUR COMPANION ANIMAL IS THE
ONLY SOLUTION.
Over 25% of all animals in shelters are purebred.
It cost taxpayers in our area thousands of dollars each year to manage
this problem.
Local animal control is allowed to keep lost animals only three days
because of overcrowding and cost. If homes aren't found, the animals are
then euthanized.
Over the years, in the area which we serve, hundreds of dogs and cats have
been killed simply because there were no homes for them. Most were
put to sleep. Others died from starvation, accidents and freezing to death. This
terrible waste of lives can easily be ended by reducing the number of
puppies and kittens being born.
SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS.
You'll not only be saving lives but your pet will receive many health and
behavioral benefits.
